Sometimes I just want to create.
I want to write.
Or I want to design.
Or I want to draw. or paint. or build.
I don’t want to think about the financial ramifications.
I don’t want to worry about the grammar. Or the color scheme. Or some golden rule.
I just want to create.
Because the creators are the history-makers. They are the culture-builders. They are the world-changers.
And the creators who make history, build cultures, and change the world don’t think about the impact on their wallet… they think about the impact on human kind.
Does my art make a difference?
Or does it just make an extra buck?
Pocket change? Or world-change?
Are my creations tailored to garner comments, shares, or the ever-elusive thumbs-up? Do I value my art based on empty social statistics?
Or do I value my art based on the difference it makes in the world.
Would I rather change one life and get no retweets? Or get a million retweets and change no lives?
I hope: the former.
Art is art.
Business is not art.
Anyone can build a business. Not everyone can be an artist.
Be you. Make art. Change the world.
